Cause
Build-up of scale in the system causing hot spots that produce steam bubbles in the system
Repair
- shut down the system; treat with a chemical de-scaler according to the manufacturer’s instructions; drain and flush thoroughly before refilling the system

- ensure that mains water is on; check:
- water flow rate
- that the float valve is not stuck
- that the safety vent pipe is correctly installed
