Heat pump condenser unit not bolted down

Cause
Unit was not correctly installed originally/fixings vibrated loose/hit by vehicle
Repair

if you know who installed the unit and they hold the appropriate qualifications, call them back to fix the unit to the manufacturer’s requirements

heat pump installation should only be carried out by experienced installers who are licensed to carry out the electrical work and hold the required certificate for handling refrigerants

the unit must be fixed on a firm base so it sits level, cannot fall over and has a minimum clearance of 100 mm underneath it. To reduce noise disturbance, units can be mounted on isolation mounting blocks or pads to absorb vibration. Fixings must be corrosion resistant – typically stainless steel
