Cause

Lack of rain washing, or soffit prevents rain washing at top of walls

Repair

  • wash down all surfaces with water and a soft bristle brush
  • lightly sand corroded areas to remove rust (but never wire brush); prime with zinc-rich primer and a metal primer; repaint applying a minimum two coats of acrylic paint, or in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations
