Cause

Lack of cleaning off of atmospheric particles that settle on the underside

Repair

  • for minor rusting, sand off the red rust, apply a zinc rich primer and a metal primer then apply two finish coats
  • institute a regular cleaning programme
  • for severe rusting have the roofing replaced
