  • replace corroded pipes and fittings (or call a pool repair or maintenance company to do this)

  • swimming pools are typically bought and installed as systems. Contact the supplier or installer to obtain the appropriate parts

  • check that the appropriate treatment chemicals are being used for the pool system

  • test the pH level of the water. Maintaining a pH level of 7.4–7.6 can help reduce the risk of staining, scaling or corrosion of pool surfaces and equipment
