  • the pool should be emptied and the liner reinstalled following the manufacturer’s instructions

  • if the liner was recently installed by a company or installer, ask them back to re-do the job

  • manufacturers and suppliers of vinyl pool liners quote life expectancies of 5–25 years, depending on the quality of the liner and installation and levels of usage, care and maintenance. The guarantee period for the liner itself will typically be 5–10 years

  • vinyl pool liners at the end of their serviceable life should be replaced. Look for a supply/installation company that specialises in this work and has considerable experience
