Incorrect installation – over long periods, polystyrene can damage electrical cabling

Repair

  • call an electrician to check, repair or replace damaged wiring
  • sleeve the wiring in PVC pipe to maintain a separation between the wiring and the polystyrene. If the wire sheath is brittle or damaged, replace the wiring before sleeving
