Soft ground/uneven settlement
Repair
- if deterioration is minor, sawcut around the damaged area to 50 mm depth; remove defective asphalt; have a contractor place new asphalt
- if deterioration is extensive, remove all existing asphalt; place compacted metal (gravel) base course; have a contractor lay new asphalt or concrete that is a minimum 100 mm thick and reinforced for vehicles; 75 mm thick for pedestrian-only paths (reinforcing not required)
