Ceilings – fibrous plaster cracked

Repair
- if ceiling remains solidly fixed to framing:
- where cracking is minimal, flush off with a gypsum stopping compound
- where damage is extensive, the ceiling may require replacement
- if the ceiling framing is not sound, remove it; repair/replace the ceiling framing as necessary; install insulation; re-line and paint the ceiling

Plasterboard sheet joints were not taped when the ceiling was installed
