Cause

Loss of bond between the cement-based plaster and the concrete

Repair

  • small areas may be left as they are
  • for large areas (that may be visible as plaster bowing out), remove all loose plaster; scratch to roughen substrate to provide a good surface; re-plaster with a cement plaster
