Moisture absorbed by the shingle/shake brings salt-like deposits to the surface

Cause
Moisture absorbed by the shingle/shake brings salt-like deposits to the surface
Repair
- dry brush the deposits with a stiff bristle brush and wash down the surface. The roof may need to be cleaned more than once to fully remove efflorescence.
- when working at height, always let someone know. Ensure the access ladder is in good condition and is securely set up on a solid level base. The correct angle for the ladder is 1 metre out from the wall for every 4 metres of height.
