No stop end to raking apron flashing to roof/wall junction

Cause

It was not a requirement when the flashing was installed

Repair

  • contact a roofer or registered plumber to fabricate a stop end to be retrofitted to the existing flashing to divert rainwater
  • water entry off the end of raking apron flashings that flash the junction between a wall and the adjacent sloping roof has been shown to be a common problem with many 1980s and 1990s buildings. Where it is suspected that the building may be leaking and there is a risk of damage, an experienced building surveyor with experience in weathertightness investigation should be engaged
