Too few fixings

Repair

  • install extra fixings to hold down loose sheets and when replacing damaged sheets
  • replace fixings with spiral-shanked nails or roofing screws. Do not use smooth-shank nails
  • use Class 4 fixings (heavy zinc or zinc-tin coatings or zinc alloy coated heads) when replacing galvanised fixings.

Cause
