Loose-fill blown-in insulation settles over time

Repair

  • install a layer of blanket/sheet/roll insulation or additional loose-fill, blown-in insulation, over the existing insulation
  • if blown-in insulation is in extremely poor condition, consider removing and replacing

  • if blown-in insulation is in extremely poor condition, consider removing and replacing
  • do not store items on top of insulation; if the roof space must be used for storage, lay boards or plywood over ceiling joists and place items on this to keep them off the insulation
