Repair

  • solar water heaters are usually proprietary systems. In the first instance call the supplier or installer for advice. They are more likely to have spare parts. They may require work be carried out by an authorised contractor, although in some cases suppliers allow registered plumbers to make repairs

  • DIY repairs may void any remaining warranty on the system

  • once the system has been repaired, start a regular maintenance routine, checking and cleaning panels at least once a year

  • some manufacturers recommend a service check by an authorised agent every five years
