Staining from run-off from cedar or H3.2 treated pine weatherboards
Stained or clear-finished timber weatherboards becoming stained due to run-off from cedar or H3.2 treated pine weatherboards
Causes
Cause
Leachate from cedar weatherboards or treatment chemicals
Repair
- divert or stop the run-off
- paint the timber to prevent leaching from the timber
- the staining will eventually stop but it could take several years. Although generally not damaging, the degree of the problem is dependent on where it occurs and whether the appearance is considered unacceptable
