Fibre-cement shingles – differential fading
Listed under: concrete and cement, fibre-cement, Roof, cladding, roof cladding, fibre-cement shingles
Cause
Some areas of the roof have greater exposure to weathering than other areas
Repair
- cleaning the roof may reduce the effect of differential fading; clean using a solution of 1 part household bleach to 4 parts water and brush with a soft broom
- if the roof is at end of its serviceable life, it should be replaced. A building consent will be required as a different roof cladding will have to be used
