Cause
Insufficient movement allowance at floor edge
Repair
- lift parquet; check substrate and framing for damage; if clean and dry, re-lay with an edge gap to allow for movement (will be covered by the skirting) plus movement joints at 4 metre maximum centres

- clean flooring in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations; do not wet clean parquet flooring
- repair leaks and avoid water spills
