Water pipes not insulated

Cause
Pipes have not been insulated. In areas subject to frost/freezing where pipes are installed above the ceiling insulation, both cold and hot water pipes should be insulated; in areas not subject to frost, hot water pipes should be insulated
Repair

install insulating sleeves to all hot water pipes, and to cold water pipes in areas subject to frost/freezing

where there is a risk of freezing, vent pipes to storage water heaters should also be insulated to 300 mm above the max standing water in the pipe

use purpose-made, preformed insulation a minimum 13 mm thick
