Painted profiled, steel roofing – paint damage
The paint on the metal roof surface is peeling, cracking or flaking
Causes

Cause
Paint damage from UV light exposure, temperature changes and atmospheric conditions. Cracking of paint occurs particularly on bends or folds. (Pre-painted roofing can be expected to last 15 years before the first major maintenance is required)
Repair
- if failure occurs within the product guarantee period, contact the manufacturer
- if failure occurs outside the product guarantee period, remove loose and flaking paint by brushing with a stiff bristle brush (but not a steel brush). Thoroughly clean and re-paint according to roofing paint manufacturer’s instructions. The painting specifications may vary according to the type of coating
