Profiled steel cladding – corrosion: white rust

Cause
Corrosion of the zinc when water is trapped between sheets at laps and joints, or during storage prior to installation
Repair
- brush to remove the deposits with a stiff bristle brush – do not wire brush
- paint brushed areas with a zinc-rich primer and a metal primer; re-paint applying a minimum two coats of acrylic paint, or in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations
