Corrosion of the zinc when water is trapped between sheets at laps and joints, or during storage prior to installation

Cause

Corrosion of the zinc when water is trapped between sheets at laps and joints, or during storage prior to installation

Repair

  • brush to remove the deposits with a stiff bristle brush – do not wire brush
  • paint brushed areas with a zinc-rich primer and a metal primer; re-paint applying a minimum two coats of acrylic paint, or in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations
